Why Do Dogs Eat Grass?

Find Extra Work

Most dogs will be partial to a bit of grass now and again, which is seen to be normal behaviour. It does not do the dog much harm, though some will vomit afterwards or may have diarrhoea. It is thought that a dog will eat grass when it needs fibre. Most dogs eat a carnivorous diet with little fibre, though some dog foods now contain adequate fibrous content.

Owners may like to add small amounts of carrot to their dog's food to increase their fibre content if excessive grass eating and ensuing vomiting/diarrhoea becomes a problem.
