Why Dogs Go Round In Circles Before Lying Down

Flatcoated retrievers are great moulters and will leave piles of hair around the home. There are a few things you can do to reduce their hairy deposits:

Furbuster Pet De-Shedding Tool

One way how to deal with dog hair from a shedding dog in your home is to use the Furbuster pet de-shedding tool which has four different sized interchangeable heads. This is especially ideal for dog owners who have more than one dog that may have different types of hair. The FurBuster de-shedding tool helps to remove dead undercoat from your pet dog which provides comfort for your loved pet and makes him or her look so much prettier and more well groomed. The advantage for you as the dog owner is that you can cope better with dog hair around the home as it sticks to the Furbuster pet de-shedding tool rather than your carpets.

Whilst my four legged companion sat beside me I wrote a book which tells the story of The Grey Lady Ghost of the Cambridge Military Hospital which reveals her origins in the QAIMNS and where she meets a QA veteran of Afghanistan. She still walks her wards and tells her story by taking Scott Grey, a QARANC nurse, to the battlefields of World War One and beyond. This is the first in the series of Grey and Scarlet Novels by CG Buswell. Read the first chapter for free.

The Furbuster pet de-shedding tool is ideal to use when your dog is casting. It has four different sizes of easy snap on heads ranging from a four inch long head for large dogs such as retrievers through to a smaller 2 inch for small dogs. It can even be used on cats; but don't let your dog find out!

One tip to make using the Furbuster pet de-shedding tool even easier to use is to give your dog a groom with its usual brush to ensure any knots, tangled or matted ends are removed or dealt with. Then use the Furbuster pet de-shedding tool to gently touch your dog's coat and guide it across it's coat remembering to direct it in the direction of its hair growth. This is more comfortable and pleasant for your dog and helps to maximise de-shedding. Rather than pet your dog with the Furbuster pet de-shedding tool you need to make long and gentle strokes. Please do not use the Furbuster pet de-shedding tool on the sensitive areas of your dog such as the anus, genitals, stomach and legs.

The Furbuster pet de-shedding tool has a long handle for your comfort and only weighs 130grams.

  • Groom your dog daily with a special dog brush or comb to reduce the amount of hair they moult. It's best to do this outside if it's nice and dry. A grooming mitt will be more comfortable for you and is sensational for the dog! They'll see this as an enjoyable treat as it feels like being stroked.

  • Bath or shower your dog to remove loose hairs and to keep the coat in good condition. It is important to only use special dog shampoo.

  • Treat your dog to a professional makeover at your local dog groomer.

  • Get the vacuum out! I would recommend buying a quality vacuum cleaner. We use an Animal Dyson Cleaner and since doing so we find we spend less time vacuuming the carpets, as it is so efficient.
